In this article, we will introduce a total of 4 types of chain data to help you understand how to analyze the current market situation:
NUPL
Puell Multiple
MVRV
LTH SOPR
1. Net Unrealized Profit/Loss (NUPL)
By looking at the difference between the price at which the UTXO was created in the network and the current price, we can see how much of the asset has gained or lost money overall.
UTXO is currently in a net loss position in the overall network, and in general the further the NUPL is from 0, the closer the market is to the top or bottom.
2. Puell Multiple
A low value indicates that some miners may need to shut down their miners to reduce arithmetic power due to revenue pressure, while the remaining miners can sell fewer tokens to cover their costs, thus reducing selling pressure.
Currently, miners' earnings are so low that they are once again at the bottom of the range, and due to revenue pressures some miners need to reduce their arithmetic power by shutting down their miners, which at the same time increases the hash rate of the remaining miners, so the motivation of miners to liquidate their sites and the pressure to sell will be reduced.
3. Market Value/Realized Value (MVRV Ratio)
Understand when prices are too high or too low and assess market profitability by comparing total market value to total realized market capitalization.
Currently market profitability is so low that it is once again in the bottom zone, with a figure of less than 1 representing a supply of parts that are either close to break-even or in the red, which provides a strong signal of market capitulation and bearish stockpiling.
4. Long Term Holder Spent Output Profit Ratio (LTH SOPR)
Provides observations of macro market sentiment, profitability and losses over a specific time frame, reflecting the level of realized profits for all bitcoins moving through the chain.
The output margin spent by long-term holders shows a realized profit/loss of -34% for all tokens currently moving through the chain, implying that investors are selling at a loss for the period as a whole.
