Layer 2 Status
L2 technologies include Sidechains, State Channels, Plasma, and Rollups (including Optimistic Rollups and Zero-Knowledge Rollups). In particular, Rollups technology has been emphasized as the preferred solution to the L2 scaling problem due to its extensive use in the Ethernet network.
The core function of L2 is to reduce the load on the main chain by moving some of the computational processes outside of the chain, which can be accomplished through a variety of technologies such as stateful channels, sidechains, Plasma and Rollups. This approach enables more transactions to be processed at lower Gas costs to meet growing market demand.
At the same time, since transaction information on the L2 network is ultimately verified and validated by the main chain, this ensures the reliability and security of off-chain transactions.
Core Impact of Ethernet Cancun Upgrade ✅
Just as cell phones and computer systems regularly update their interfaces, add new features or fix bugs to improve the user experience, Ethernet systems require similar updates and maintenance. The Dencun upgrade will be officially activated on the mainnet at 21:55 Taiwan time on the 13th, and the market believes that this could be the impetus for the rise of Ether and L2 tokens.
"EIP-4844 will introduce a new type of transaction called "blob". Since a blob can increase the amount of data stored, L2 can carry more data per block, which not only reduces network congestion, but also makes transaction fees cheaper.

https://l2beat.com/scaling/summary
According to @l2beat data, the current L2 Total Volume Locked (TVL) has climbed to $3.71 billion, a new high, with a 7-day increase of 12.61%. So we can speculate that with the Cancun upgrade approaching, users on the chain are more optimistic about the various ecosystems of L2.
The above chart shows that the top 5 L2s in terms of lock-up volume are:
Arbitrum One: $15.4 billion|7-day increase 11.53%
OP Mainnet: $897 million|7-day increase 12.69%
Blast: $2.75 billion|7-day increase 28.75%
Manta Pacific: $2.14 billion|7-day increase 12.64%
Starknet: $1.68 billion|7-day increase 26%
